Designed to bring greater depth, scale and control to both music and home cinema, the Wharfedale NOVA Series is a new generation of active subwoofers combining advanced driver engineering, ABR-assisted low-frequency loading, DSP-controlled EQ and powerful Class-D amplification.
Available in four models — NOVA 8, NOVA 10, NOVA 12 and NOVA 15 — the range provides a progression in scale and output for different rooms, systems and listening requirements, while sharing the same core Wharfedale engineering philosophy.

A well-integrated subwoofer adds more than additional low-frequency output. In a stereo system, it extends the musical foundation below the natural reach of the main loudspeakers, adding scale, weight and ambience while allowing bass instruments and low-frequency effects to be reproduced with greater authority.
In a home cinema system, the subwoofer also reproduces the dedicated LFE (Low-Frequency Effects) channel, delivering the physical impact and scale intended by modern film soundtracks.
NOVA is designed for both applications, combining extension and impact with the control required to integrate naturally with the rest of the system.

Every NOVA subwoofer is built around the same core engineering principles: a long-throw active driver, a down-firing Auxiliary Bass Radiator, DSP-controlled equalisation and high-current Class-D amplification.
Rather than treating each element independently, Wharfedale has developed the driver, motor system, cabinet loading, amplification and DSP as a complete low-frequency system. The result is bass designed to combine depth and physical impact with the speed and control required for music.

NOVA is designed to perform equally confidently in dedicated two-channel systems and home cinema installations. Two DSP-controlled operating modes tailor the subwoofer's behaviour for each application, giving listeners the choice of controlled musical integration or greater low-frequency impact and scale for film soundtracks.

For smaller rooms, compact stereo systems and discreet home cinema installations.

For small-to-medium rooms where additional bass authority and output are required.

For medium-to-large rooms and systems demanding greater low-frequency scale and dynamic capability.

The largest model in the range, designed for large listening spaces and systems where maximum bass scale and output are required.
NOVA has been designed to complement the wider Wharfedale loudspeaker family, with clean proportions, carefully considered finishes and an understated appearance that allows each model to sit naturally within both stereo and home cinema systems.
From the compact NOVA 8 to the imposing NOVA 15, the same design language is maintained throughout the range, allowing performance requirements and room size—not aesthetics—to determine the most appropriate model.

NOVA is designed for straightforward integration with a wide variety of stereo and home cinema systems. Flexible connection options and adjustable crossover, phase and level controls allow each model to be matched to the main loudspeakers, listening position and room.
