DAC OF THE YEAR AND BEST DAC £400-£800
The new Chord Electronics Mojo is entirely designed and manufactured in England. Mojo stands for ‘Mobile Joy’ and Chord is justifiably proud to say that Mojo is a true reference-quality mobile DAC and high-level headphone amplifier; its performance can truly rival DACs at twenty times its price. 44.1kHz up to 768kHz and DoP DSD files: DSD 64; DSD 128 and DSD 256. Mojo can decode a wide range of formats, too: PCM; WAV; AAC; AIFF; MP3 and FLAC files and is designed to work with all smartphones and music players.
It has a full recall memory for both input selection and previous volume set level. Input selection is fully automatic: if more than one input is active they are prioritised as USB first, coax second, optical third. The file frequency is shown clearly by an indicator colour option on the power switch, from 44.1kHz (red), 48kHz (orange) and so on, up through a rainbow of colours to bright white for DSD.
The highly accurate low-distortion digital volume is controlled via two colourilluminated buttons. Many low-cost apps now make high-resolution music files playable from all smart phones. Mojo has three different high-resolution digital inputs: optical to 192kHz, plus USB and RCA (mini-jack) which operate up to 768kHz. units. Charging is via a standard USB port; Mojo may be played at the same time.
Mojo is entirely designed and manufactured in England. It is a true Reference Quality DAC and Headphone Amplifier.
The Chord Company Clearway 3.5mm to RCA Digital Coaxial Cable
Fitted with Chord VEE 3 RCA plugs, including PTFE insulation between signal/return contacts. The ABS outer shell and direct silver-plating process improve signal transfer.
The ARAY conductor design reduces interference and internal reflections. This new construction method prevents any direct compression on the signal conductor, eliminating changes to impedance.

How do I use Mojo with my Hi-Fi Stereo system?
Depending on what inputs your amplifier has, if it has a Minijack (or often labeled AUX) input, a simple minijack cable is required.
If your system has RCA inputs only, using a 3.5mm to RCA stereo adapter, or cable will solve this issue.
When powering Mojo on, press the 2 volume buttons at the same time to push the volume of the Mojo instantly to line level volume.
Can I charge my Mojo and play it at the same time?
BUT, because the Mojo is so compact, with a powerful amplifier built in, and a very powerful battery, it can get very warm.
Using a high current fast charger can make the Mojo run very hot while in use. It will shut itself down if it gets too hot, for its own protection. The Mojo will not run excessively hot when it is fully charged but still plugged in. Using a 1A or less (500ma) USB charger can keep it from getting too hot.
What can I plug into Mojo as a source?
The Mojo has 3 inputs. A Micro USB port, an Optical Toslink port, and a 3.5mm Minijack Coaxial port.
The Micro USB port can be used from a computer (Mac, PC), an Android Phone (more on this later), or an iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad) via a CCK (Camera Connection Kit).
The Optical Toslink Jack can be used with anything with a Optical Output, such as a Television, network streamer, CD player, Blu-Ray/DVD Player, or Game Console.
The Coaxial minijack requires an adapter, or a specifically made cable, as the coaxial standard is usually an RCA plug. But devices you can plug into this are CD players, Blu-Ray Players, Network streamers, and some computers.
Why should I Buy a Mojo?
Using Mojo with either your headphones/earphones or your Hi-Fi system will improve clarity of sound drastically.
