The Marantz Model 50 is a high-current integrated amplifier designed for traditional stereo systems, offering analogue and digital inputs along with a robust power supply for driving quality loudspeakers. It delivers Marantz’s established amplifier design approach focused on control, clarity, and long-term listening comfort.
The Bowers & Wilkins 705 S3 is a high-performance stand-mount speaker in the 700 Series S3 range, featuring a Carbon Dome tweeter housed in a Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top enclosure, paired with a Continuum cone bass/midrange driver. The result is a compact loudspeaker designed for detailed, articulate performance in small to medium listening rooms, or in higher-quality nearfield setups.
This bundle is supplied as a fixed configuration in black and includes the amplifier and speakers only. Sources, cables, and accessories are not included.
The Marantz Model 50 is a two-channel integrated amplifier designed for modern stereo systems that require both analogue and digital connectivity, without moving into network streaming or AV receiver territory. It is intended as a traditional hi-fi amplifier for listeners who want flexibility, solid power delivery, and long-term reliability.
The amplifier is rated at 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms, providing sufficient current capability to drive a wide range of loudspeakers, including more demanding floorstanding designs. The output stage uses Marantz’s discrete current feedback amplifier topology, chosen for its wide bandwidth and fast transient response. This approach is paired with Marantz’s proprietary HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) circuitry, which replaces conventional op-amps in critical signal paths to improve speed, noise performance, and overall signal integrity.
The Model 50 includes a comprehensive selection of analogue and digital inputs. Analogue connectivity includes multiple line-level inputs as well as a dedicated moving magnet phono input, allowing direct connection of a turntable without the need for an external phono stage. Digital inputs include optical and coaxial connections, along with a USB-A input for playback from compatible storage devices. The internal DAC supports high-resolution PCM audio up to 192 kHz / 24-bit, making the amplifier suitable for use with modern digital sources such as CD transports, televisions, and music streamers.
Tone controls for bass and treble are provided, along with balance adjustment, allowing users to tailor playback to room acoustics or personal preference. A dedicated headphone output with its own amplifier circuit is included for private listening. The amplifier also features a Source Direct mode, bypassing unnecessary circuitry to provide a shorter, cleaner signal path when tone control adjustment is not required.
Physically, the Model 50 is built on a rigid metal chassis designed to reduce vibration and electrical interference. Attention is paid to internal layout, grounding, and component selection to maintain consistent performance over time. The amplifier is designed as a central hub for a dedicated two-channel audio system, prioritising sound quality, usability, and durability over feature overload.
The Bowers & Wilkins 705 S3 is a high-performance stand-mount loudspeaker in the 700 Series S3 range, developed to deliver refined two-channel performance in a compact cabinet format suited to small and medium listening spaces.
High-frequency reproduction is handled by a Carbon Dome tweeter developed specifically for the 700 Series. The tweeter is housed in a solid aluminium “Tweeter-on-Top” enclosure and mechanically decoupled from the main cabinet. This design helps reduce cabinet-induced vibration and resonance at the tweeter, supporting cleaner treble response and improved clarity at higher listening levels.
Midrange and bass are produced by a Continuum cone bass/midrange driver. Continuum technology was originally developed for Bowers & Wilkins’ higher-end loudspeakers and is designed to avoid the abrupt breakup behaviour associated with traditional cone materials. This contributes to a more controlled, neutral response through the midrange, improving vocal intelligibility and instrument texture.
Bass loading is handled via a rear Flowport™ bass reflex system, designed to reduce turbulence and audible port noise during dynamic passages. The cabinet design and baffle geometry are intended to minimise coloration and help maintain definition and coherence across the frequency range.
