THE CHORD COMPANY EpicX XLR Balanced Interconnects
A long-time Chord Company favourite, hand built in UK and with genuine audiophile pedigree. Similar in design to our Shawline cable but enjoying heavier gauge, silver-plated conductors with improved internal geometry. As the name suggests, Epic features our unique ARAY technology and is now further upgraded with the latest XLPE insulation where applicable.
The EpicX ARAY XLR design was adapted to use an extra conductor for optimum performance. The perfect balanced connection for any mid-priced equipment featuring hi-resolution chip sets.
The EpicX XLR is built using the same materials as the EpicX RCA and like the ShawlineX XLR, the design has been adapted to use an extra conductor in order to produce the optimum performance. This means that the performance is very similar to the Epic RCA cable – capable of carrying a very high level of detail with musical coherence.
Upgraded with the latest XLPE insulation.
Fitted with Chord Company ChorAlloy® plated connector pins.
ChorAlloy™
The growing line-up of ChorAlloy-plated connectors/plugs is already being fitted to Chord Company cables.
The upgraded ChorAlloy™ plating is available on VEE3 and PTFE RCA/phono connectors, ChordOhmic speaker connectors (spade and 4mm banana), BNC connectors, most USB connectors and the connecting pins of DIN and XLR connectors.
C-series cables, Clearway USB cables and streaming cables will remain the same.
ChorAlloy-fitted products can be identified by stickers or indicators on retail packs. Other distinguishing features are the anti-tarnish, steel-like appearance of the connectors and the enhanced performance!
